What are we all about?

The mission of our organization is to promote responsible pet ownership through education. And to place pet rabbits into warm nurturing homes and to restrict the numbers of unwanted pets through spay and neutering of all adoption animals passing through our program.

The Ventura County based rescued pet rabbit adoption group, WESCR, provides classes, workshops, and pet adoptions. Donations of equipment, cages, water bottles, feeders, pet carriers, and of course, cash are greatly appreciated. We operate under a 501 (c) 3 IRS nonprofit number, and we will be happy to supply a receipt for tax purposes. Ventura/L.A. Counties do not supply any spay or neutering vouchers for pet rabbits as they do with other animals. So any cash donations toward that end are greatly appreciated and very much needed. Spay and neutering of pet rabbits is an expensive endeavor when you can find a Vet that is able to safely perform the operation.

We need volunteers to help with set up and clean up at the various adoption sites as well as to handle and look after them while on site. We also need short-term foster homes.

We cannot accept any more rabbits into our adoption program unless the owner/rescuer is willing to foster them until they are adopted. Or until we have more foster home volunteers to accept them.
